Movie: A Dead Case

Yes. Then I'm back again, to talk about a new idea! And this new idea mixes good old-fashioned thriller with supernatural elements, a dead Private Investigator, scary castles in Cannock Chase and a hound from hell!

The films title is, of course, A Dead Case. That is where we begin our tale about Cale and The Kid vs. Demons. We are to continue that tale in Another Dead Case, which is the second and final part of the series. A lot is going on in my mind regarding this story, but most of my thought are as of how Cale's universe works and to who lives in it. Thoughts like, will the final clash in the story of Cale be about Armageddon and the war between God and the Devil? Or is it something else enterily? Has it anything to do with Aliens? Is it normal vampires in this world?, and so on. In the end, I've decided to just go with the flow. And I've done that. So my story is hopefully something fresh and original. But who am I to decide?

A Dead Case

Let's do this cronologically. That way, atleast you understands what's going on! Our tale begins in a rather unusual way; it begins with an old couple. The wife in this old couple is getting annoyed by some mysterious sounds coming from an old castle just over the hill. So she tells her husband to go out and make them stop these horrible noises. Outside it is rain, thunder and lighting. And the husband goes out; travelling on a motorcycle, never to be seen again... Well, that's not entirely true. But he won't be seen again for a very long time! It is, though, important to know that his name is Paul. And yes, the story of what happened to him will be very important!

Anyway, the next day this old woman named Jessica is calling a Private Investigator. That is because she feels that this is the only way that this rather strange case will have one person's entire focus. She has absolute fate in this Private Investigator to solve this horrible case! And as Jessica doesn't know how to use the internet, she is using the newspaper. And with the help of her friend Norma, they find the Private Investigator Cale. However, things don't work out splendidly like everyone originally thought. There's more to this case; and it seems as Cale arrives at Cannock Chase, that Jessica is much more fixated about who's moved in to the old castle of Lord Beckingale, who mysteriously disappeared 20 years ago.

As Cale tries to obtain more information about Lord Beckingale, Paul and the new neighbours, this case goes to his head. He can't find any clues as to where the old husband named Paul has gone, and there appears that the government has bought the old castle. After talking with Jessica, his "chief" in this case, Cale is only to investigate what's going on in the old castle. Which he does rather magnificently!

Cale leaves Cannock Chase for the first time he's started on the case, and goes back to London, where he lives together with his wife. Oh, you didn't see that one coming, did you? Anyway, he continues to investigate the case, and especially the castle's old owner, Lord Beckingale. It turns out he was a scientist, and his favourite hobby was to bring these old myths as to "Is this place haunted?", and find a scientific cause as to why these mysterious things happened. He was, in other words, a tourist killer. And his newest project was the old HellHound of Cannock Chase.

And yes, this is the strange, creepy and cool HellHound! Scary, isn't it? Anyway, this is what the old people of Cannock Chase believed was haunting them; and it was this that old Lord Beckingale was investigating when he disappeared. Now, as Cale moves deeper into Lord Beckingale's past, he discovers that he found a mysterious book in which it stood how to control the HellHound, how to kill it and how to make it come back from the dead. Again Cale does some research and he discovers that no one has seen this HellHound in 20 years. This is really bugging Cale, which thinks he's on to something here. When his wife finally arrives home from her workday, Cale ask if she wants to help him with this case of his. She agrees, and together they to break the case down, focusing on what could have happened. In the end, they both agree to what Cale originally thought had happened: Lord Beckingale had succeeded in what he had set out to do; he had found the HellHound, it was real, not something he could explain. After he had found this, he had probably used the book to destroy it. Then, someone had murdered him and probably hid the body. But, since the HellHound hasn't been seen in 20 years, it is likely that Lord Beckingale managed to hide the book from whoever wanted this Hound alive. Now, this someone has got his hands on the castle, and is looking for the book to raise the HellHound from the dead, so it once again can scare and kill innocent farmers in Cannock Chase.

After these facts are broken down, Cale goes further. Paul, the poor husband, probably got the same fate as Lord Beckingale. Murdered. Everything is explained with this new theory. But that same night, something is bugging Cale. He's sure that it is something he's missed, some vital fact that he can use and that is essential to the case. Something that makes this case something else enterily. And in the night, stilll losing his precious sleep, it hit’s Cale like a water ballon, hitting him in the face; The Government owns the castle now! How in the name of hell are they connected to this?

The day after, Cale drives from London and back to Cannock Chase, where he explains what he's found out to Jessica, who is stunned about the facts Cale has been able to discover. After this, Cale checks into a motel, saying nothing to Jessica what he is planning to do. But when day becomes night, Cale travels to the old castle at Cannock Chase. He is determined to find out what is going on in that castle, and does a very controlled break-in. However, things slip out of Cale's hands when he discovers how it looks inside the castle; it's very clear that they're planning to sacrifice someone in order to raise the HellHound. As Cale moves further into the room of the mysterious castle, he discovers that the people that lives here has discovered the book! Although he has seen no image of the book before, Cale is sure that is the one. The Book is large, and there are no images or letters at the cover. It's just a leather cover. Cale takes the book with him. Now, he must flee. He has managed to stop the plan to raise the HellHound, and he has the book for further studies. As he finds his way out, he hears voices. He decides that it's worth a shot to hear what they're talking about, so he moves towards the voices and tries to hear what they are talking about. And how lucky he is! They're talking about the sacrifice! Apparently, they are to sacrifice a young boy who bears the name of Derek King. Then they talk about how the Prophecy tells about this kid that's destined to make the Demons win the Last War. Outside the door stands Cale, and he is taping everything they're saying. But now he stops. He's heard enough, and it's time to go. If he only could have decided this a little earlier: as he is on his way out, the alarm sounds. Unfortunately, this is where Cale's luck runs out: the foes are able to catch him, and he's knocked out.

When Cale wakes up, he's sitting in a chair. There is a man before him, and he is talking to Cale. This is the main bad guy, and he's called Faceless. His real identity is unkown, but as he's talking to Cale, things are revealed. Important things, such as "Demons are Real, and we're finally able to take over the world and win the Last War that's stated in the Prophecies"! But when Faceless leaves the room, Cale is able to break free. And on his way out, he battles a vampire with a sword, punches Faceless in the face and escapes with The Book of Prophecies and his taperecorder.

After this, Cale leaves Cannock Chase and moves on to London. When he arrives there, he finds his wife in perfect shape, and they leave. Cale has hidden the book at "a place where no one except I can find it", and so off they go. But it is here things are going very bad for Cale. I already told you his luck has run out, but as the Demons, with Faceless in the lead, are following Cale and his wife, Cale is getting real scared. He tries to out-drive them, an attempt which leads to Cale driving out on an open road. It is here Faceless and his minions gets rid of Cale; they blow up the car in which both Cale and his Wife are in. Then, they assure that both Cale and his Wife are dead, and so they travel back to Cale's apartment to find The Book of Prophecies.

But our tale about Cale isn't done yet. Oh no. Seeing as this is a supernatural thriller, Cale comes back from the Dead with a vengeance. He then goes after Faceless and his minions, but first he tracks down Derek King, and saves him minutes before the dreadful demons are coming to claim him. Now, Derek and Dead Cale leaves London for Cannock Chase, and the old Castle of Lord Beckingale. Here, they fight till their death, and they almost manages to stop Faceless from bringing the HellHound into our world. That is, almost. You see, when Cale comes back from the Dead, he leaves his old gun and switches it with a new primary weapon: A Sword. It's a rather nice sword actually. Anyway, he sticks it in the stomach of old Faceless. As you know, that isn't enough to kill a man, and most certainly not a Faceless. (They're a clan of demons, if you wondered) So Faceless manages to place himself on the board of sacrifice, and say the words (he remembers them. The book is still lost to anyone except Cale) that raises the HellHound from his grave. And then, Cale kills him. So, in a way Cale won. But the last thing Cale and Derek see when they leave Cannock Chase, is the HellHound, claiming it's first victim.

The End... For now!

As I said, the tale of Cale is in two parts. The other part is named Another Dead Case, and I will talk about that one next time. Another Dead Case will be about that Last War they've all been talking about, it will be more about the mysterious universe (Yes, you'll see more good "demons") and it'll answer the two questions that you've all been wondering about:

1. What really happened to Paul, the missing husband?

2. Why is the Castle owned by the Government?

And it will, as any good fantasy set in England, feature Stonehenge. I can promise you; it will be rad!

Till then; Have a Ball!
