Drabble - "Weatherly Risks"

"Why is it raining again?" said the little girl to her hard-working scientist father. "I don't WANT it to rain. Can't you make it stop?" That was a good idea indeed, thought the scientist father. And, three years later, after much hard work, man gained control of the weather. From that day, it rained more in places without water, and in places with much water, less rain poured down from the heavens.

Five months after we learned to control the weather, the World ended.

To this day it is not known if the two incidents are connected...

...but they probably are.

*tears up weather control satellite plans* Guess it's back to the death ray.

I like that he got the idea from his little girl.

It is wonderful to know that scientists listen to small children. I hope, however, that they do plenty of research to make sure the world doesn't end thanks to their efforts. I can only imagine that poor little girl, happy that her dad took her idea seriously, happy that it worked, and then horrified that her idea brought about the end of the world...presumably. Great drabble!
